We will not own the copyright of the song(s) submitted, the copyrights of the song still belongs to the songwriters entirely. However, should the song(s) submitted be selected and awarded (which includes the recording and release of the winning songs), the songwriter/music publishers must provide full authorisation to the Organisers to publish these winning works to major digital music streaming platforms (Territory: Worldwide) and not charge an upfront royalty fee for the use of the song. Therefore, by submitting your original work for this festival, the songwriter(s) acknowledges and agrees that no upfront royalty fee will be required by the songwriter/music publisher should the submitted song be recorded and released (as part of the winning prize).

Yes, the festival emphasizes on originality, thus the participating songwriters are in the best position to decide on how they would like to present their original song (be it as a solo, group or band performance etc.). However, it is mandatory for the song to be performed with at least 1 live music instrument, with the exception of group Acappella style. Do also note that the engagement of any vocalists/musicians will be at the participants’ own expense. If participants are unable to enlist the assistance of any musician friends, The Organisers may assist in recommendation of suitable musicians. However, all negotiations and associated costs must be borne by the participants, The Organisers will not intervene.
